Fastest Car in the World ... by Anthony Harper

Fastest Car in the World.

Have you ever wondered what the fastest production car in the world is? The car that holds this prestigious award is the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. The Bugatti is a beautiful car and it definitely will stand out in a crowd of cars. The champion is able to ride down the streets with its engines on a loud roar, I mean wouldn’t you if you were the fastest car. There are plenty of reasons why the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport won the title as the world’s fastest production car and I’m certainly going to elaborate.
For starters, the Bugatti has a 16 cylinder engine that is pushing about 1200 horsepower at 6400 rpm. That is pretty incredible if you ask me. I mean that gets you from 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds. That is ridiculously fast! Another incredible feature on this car is that it has a twin clutch gearbox with seven speeds. That allows the driver pristine driving ability. What allows the car to suck in the air around it is two NACA ducts set into the roof as well as front air intakes built right into the front bumper that give the Bugatti a sleek and luxurious look. The all wheel drive basis of the Bugatti also helps this car achieve its top speed. With every wheel churning away at the pavement the torque is spread evenly across its base. You also have to take into account the body of this beast. Bugatti’s engineers really designed a sleek car that has minimal air resistance and is all around aerodynamic.

Believe me when I tell you the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport will definitely give you all the attention in whatever town you live in. Coming in at around $2,426,904 you may the Bugatti definitely will hit your pocketbook pretty tough. If you can’t afford one I still recommend going and just seeing this car for yourself.

4D Future ... by Michael Messinger

4D.png
We are now entering a new age of gaming that Nintendo failed to enter, but gave us the possibilities of gaming of tomorrow, and that day is almost here. About a year ago, a certain company whose name I don’t really know started a project for a device known as the Oculist Rift or something like that. The name is weird like the Magnavox Odyssey. This device will enable people to play games in virtual reality.

Nintendo came up with the idea of making a virtual reality console called the Virtual Boy, although due to sales and everybody getting pure red eyes by looking at video games that were red, only a few games were made for this console. An estimated amount of games that were made are 10. That is not that many. This also might have meant that the console was too ahead of its time and technology had not caught up with it.

The Oculist Rift however, enables the game into HD and when video game companies heard about this new device they started having new ideas. The people at Mojang, had the idea that it would be amazing if they were to have Minecraft be playable on this device. People who funded the project got their own prototype of the device and tried it out. It won’t be long until gaming will literally and truly take people into the real game. And that is without the losing all your lives you die in real life routine, no, this is going to be much more different than that, but if I were you I would stay as far away as you can from trying to find any glitches.

Is this really a good idea though? Almost every game before the Xbox Kinect needed to have a control in order to not only play the game, but to even start playing. In the NES classic Duck Hunt, you use a zapper controller to play the game, but you need to use a regular Nintendo controller in order to start the game. I believe I saw somewhere that the Virtual Boy did have a Nintendo controller on it and was 2D to 3D. It you were to play on the Oculist Rift however when you Minecraft, you can say it’s 4D or like you are at an IMAX movie theater because if you look left the character in the game will also look left. The device actually knows what you are doing. There is still this thing about motion gaming though. Ever since the NES days motion gaming is still hard to master. 4 out of 5 games in the Wii sports games are fun to play with the motion controller except for golf, you can’t control you power or be gentle just to putt the ball in the hole. For Xbox Kinect you need a lot of room to play, meaning not furniture in your way or even in the room. The power glove… well, more than half the time it doesn’t even work. Any way I think that’s it.

Luke Rockhold vs. Vitor Belfort ... by Andrew Collins

Luke Rockhold vs. Vitor Belfort
This fight may is not a title match, but why is it earning so much hype? Not many people know of Luke, but there isn’t a reason why he should be underestimated. Luke is a Strikeforce champion whose skill on the ground perfectly matches his stand-up game. Ruthless. However, his opponent is just as good excelling in different forms of mixed martial arts. Belfort is a top notch fighter who apparently can only be beaten by the UFC’s best, Jones and Silva.
This fight his been in the making for over 6 weeks now and Rockhold’s opinion of Belfort has not changed. He believes that Belfort is in fact using performance enhancing drugs such as TRT. Even so, Rockhold is determined to win this fight. He said that there was nothing he could do besides win this fight. He plans to cut out all distractions and out his focus on getting a potential title fight.
Of course Belfort’s ideals are not the same. Belfort denies using any enhancements and says his strength comes from within. During a press conference he stated, “I have crushed all the grapes, now it is time for me to drink that wine.” He wants to show the world that he deserves another title shot with either Jones or Silva and that this match is a stepping stone. “Once I step into the octagon, Rockhold will witness a silent storm.”

Can He Play?

Lawrence Okoye is an Olympian discus thrower. Even though he finished in last place for the finals in the 2012 London Olympics, Okoye still holds the British record (68.24 meters). At only 21 years of age, standing 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing over 300lbs, many look at Okoye and believe he is already a professional American Football player. So why not try it?

Okoye has never played a down of American Football before even though his father played for Nebraska. He never really considered it. That was until he received a call from multiple NFL teams that wanted him to showcase his athletic abilities at a combine held at the Dallas Cowboy’s stadium. He didn’t disappoint at all. Running under a 4.8 in the 40 yard dash, jumping a 10’5” in the broad jump, powering over 30 reps in the 225 bench press, Okoye made sure his presence was felt.
After his display of talents, he made visits to the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and 49ers. Coach of the San Francisco 49ers Jim Harbaugh praised the physical appearance of Okoye and said God made a beautiful man. Okoye has his eyes set on becoming great and believes through hard work he can accomplish it. He might not be good now, but every day he spends with his newly signed team, the 49ers, he plans to improve. His first goal is to make the 53 man cut.

The Office Finale ... by Brittany Wallace

The Office was originally a British show that was popular in The United Kingdom, but two producers from different countries collaborated together to create the hilariously popular show that came to a close on May 16th 2013.

Some would say Steve Carrell’s appearance on the NBC sitcom's finale of The Office was unexpected. Rumors had spread that he would not be in the episode, spread like wildfire. So to see him appear as the surprise Best Man in Dwight and Angela’s wedding was a shock to some of the viewers.

The episode, "Finale", originally aired on May 16, 2013 on NBC in a 75-minute timeslot which followed a one-hour retrospective. NBC increased the ad price by 200 percent for "Finale", asking for $400,000 per commercial. This was due to the anticipated increase in viewers.

In the one-hour retrospective, each of the characters explained their feelings toward the show, leading many of the actors to tearful memories of their 201 episodes. Jenna Fischer stated, “It was really cool because the things that we’re talking about in the scenes and the subject matter of the scene was sort of mirroring how we were feeling in real life.”

Fischer explains: “The final scene that we shot — which is not the final scene of the episode — was of everybody leaving the office. They yelled ‘Cut cut! That’s a wrap! That’s a series wrap!’ And then we all just burst into tears… We were all standing there in a group and we knew that we’d never hear ‘Going again!’ again. And then we all walked back in, and that’s when the crew members and Greg came and we all started hugging and crying.”

NBC will be different without the 9:00 Episode every Thursday night.

David Beckham ... by Dominique Amaya

This week’s human interest topic will be the one and only David Beckham. Now, I myself don’t follow soccer too closely but I couldn’t ignore the latest news as to his career. Even for those how have never watched a soccer game in their life this is a house hold name. He has been in countless commercials and made cameos on shows such as The Simpsons and Sesame Street. After a career of two entire decades this pro athlete super star announced this morning (5/16/13) that he would be hanging up his cleats. So due to the retirement announcement by this legendary soccer player, it might be appropriate to take a look back and remember his superb feats and accomplishments.
David Beckham has a total of nearly 800 games, 10 league championships and participation in three World Cups. According to his Wikipedia page Beckham's professional career began with Manchester United, making his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. With United, Beckham won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League in 1999. He then played four seasons with Real Madrid, winning the La Liga championship in his final season with the club. In July 2007 Beckham signed a five-year contract with Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy. In international football, Beckham made his England debut on 1 September 1996, at the age of 21. He was captain for six years, during which he played 58 times. Beckham has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year and in 2004 was the world's highest-paid soccer player. When joining the MLS in 2007 he was given the highest player salary in the league's history of 6.5 million dollars per year.
He is married to Victoria Beckham and they have four children. Victoria was famously known as "Posh Spice" of the pop music group Spice Girls. Therefore, their relationship instantly attracted a great deal of media attention. David proposed to her on 24 January 1998 in a restaurant in Cheshunt, England. In 2009, the couple's joint wealth was estimated at 125 million dollars. In April 2007, the family purchased their current main residence, an Italian villa in Beverly Hills, to coincide with Beckham's transfer to the Galaxy that July. The mansion, priced at $22 million, is near the homes of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and talk-show host Jay Leno, in an exclusive gated community in the hills overlooking the city. The family also owned a home in Dubai.
Though he is retiring according to his Yahoo.com profile Beckham may be as busy in retirement as he was as a player. He has already agreed to a lucrative deal to become an ambassador for Chinese soccer, as that nation seeks to increase its soccer profile, and it is likely he will also perform a similar role for the Qatar group that owns PSG and several other worldwide soccer properties. His brand is so powerful that it is sometimes easy to forget that for a period towards the end of the last millennium and into the new one, Beckham truly was one of the best in the world.

To Those Nights ... by William Channita

On May 13, 2013, WongFuProductions, an independent video production company who is primarily known on YouTube released a new video called “To Those Nights.” “To Those Nights,” is a 17 minute long fictional video that shows the way our heart and mind act when we are under the influence of alcohol. The emotions and actions we might have locked away or ignored. This video shows the events of several people who are under the influence and shows how they act with their emotions and what becomes of them.

From love at first sight, to recalling old memories of your past loved one, or maybe even a marriage proposal, “To Those Nights,” is a powerful video that grabs your attention from the moment you start to watch it. Continuing onto the video, you start to feel for the characters and what they experience. The sadness, the trauma and the happiness they enjoy. In the end, you are filled with a mix of emotions. From happiness to being surprised, “To Those Nights,” is a video that conveys a powerful emotional standpoint while being under the influence of alcohol. It is a much watch. And as a YouTube account named Sarah Taylor says, “Dammit Wongfu. Incredible once again.”

Janel Parrish, a well-known actress who is best known as Mona Vanderwaal from ABC Family’s, Pretty Little Liars, also received a cameo. Many of people who were as surprised as I was. Some of them conveying in the comments in the YouTube section saying, “IS THAT MONA FROM PRETTY LITTLE LIARS!?” from a YouTube account named musikroxx123.

In the end, “To Those Nights,” is a great film that has amazing cinematography and just as amazing theme. There are no other words that are needed to explain a well-made film. If you want to watch it the link is here.
